    They are Alumagrips.

    GunGrips.net made them.

He can laser etch pretty much anything you can design. Fast service too. I sent a preliminary email w/small version of design to inquire whether he could do it; email with a sample picture of the grip with my design was returned the same day. I uploaded higher res version and had the grips 3 days later.

sounds like a plan to me, hell that guy's grips look awesome and he makes more than just 1911 grips, and in more materials than just aluminum

Here is my last creation. You can see in the pics with the Carbon Creation grip panels the shake and bake coating chipped. I am now finishing up any small discrepencies on it and getting it parked.

Those groups are 50 yards, off the bags, using LSWC midrange handloads. It does the same or better with 230 grain ball.

This is a Caspian frame with what started life as a Colt produced slide, in the rough. It has the 7791414 barrel fitted to it and the other goodies that go with it.

just ordered a taurus PT 1911. I still have to wait about another 15 days before i can buy again. I just started IDPA and i'm looking forward to shooting a 1911. Next I will get a springfield GI.
My S&W 5903 is very light gun for the size and has a fair amount of jump for a 9mm. I have felt the weight of the taurus and I think it will help with that.
