http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...-handguns-cmp/

Didn't want to start a new thread, but the search function is crap.

Start saving your pennies, I hope they're not too expensive.

I hope they don't fill Club requests first. That would probably take them all out of the hands of collectors and enthusiasts.

How many guns are they realistically talking about? Think they can sell out faster than the last batch of carbines?

My only concern is they will try to get "Market Value" for these firearms. This could put many of these handguns out of the reach of many folks. But who knows what they will be selling and what will be auctioned? I'm sure if any of these have a collector's value, they will go right to the auction site. I'm just worried that the rest of the pistols are going to be bits and pieces and not really worth that much.

This is bound to get very interesting. The fever up until they are released is going to be unbearable.

How will CMP handle the HQL issue in MD? Will you have to have a C&R?
When I bought Garands and a Carbine they just shipped to my house.

I remember an old post in the CMP forums saying that the CMP would only ship the 1911s to FFL-01 dealers in the end purchaser's state. This way, the CMP does not have to navigate each state and local jurisdiction's handgun laws.

It looks like the CMP 1911 threads (on the CMP forum) are getting closed by the Mod's. I guess the CMP folks don't have answers to anything and want to shut down hearsay and speculation.
