Personally, I have absolutely no desire to even consider something like this. The recoil, noise, flash, lack of capacity would all be no-go's for me. A bit of a useless toy that wouldn't be much fun to shoot.

I'd shoot it in .223. Recoil is helped by a complete burn of the powder in the barrel. In this gun most of the powder would burn outside the barrel. Big flash and boom. I'd want to do it at an indoor range just because.

Yeah. My brother has a Thompson Contender pistol. He bought a .30-06 barrel for fun. I pulled the trigger on that once. Just once.
I saw a derringer type pistol in 30-06 once. I don't think it ever caught on.
