Picked up today at Jarrettsville .

The DL was mfg 1940-65 . This one is marked Microgroove , so after 7/ 53 , but not groveed for scope, so probably 1950s .

Non original sights , a ramp bead front , U notch fixed rear . Better sight picture than stock . Hopefully someone who went to effort to upgrade sights made sure the POI was suitable .

    Came with 2 magazine , 100rd of Aguilla , for $120 .

Alas, I am too computer illiterate to do pictures .

Same room as MSI , middle aisle, most of the way to the back . Had mostly ammo and accessories , plus the Marlin . At first was part of a package w/ case, apparently case was sold separately mid day .

My first rimfire was 1930s era , clip fed, bolt action sporter . That my father had bought new , by mail order, while in high school.

Albeit that was a Savage, and by the time passed to me , had a Zebrawood stock, made from ( non- inletted, non- shaped ) blank .

In searching around the internet for a pic of this rifle it looks like it was also sold as a J.C Higgins model by Sears(103.16). My dad bought one in the '50's and it was used to dispatch varmints on the farm. Learned to shoot this as well when I was older and started shooting said varmints at that time and on into now. I still have it and treasure it and memories of dad. Would shoot shorts, longs and long rifles and had one 8 shot magazine and had a 4x scope with a side mount screwed into the receiver that was attached when dad bought it new. You got a deal Biggfoot.

Heard back over on Rimfire Central .

The groved for scope was first mentioned in 1957 catalog . So that should put this into the mid '53 to mid '56 window .
