Do we need to register these with the state after they are built ? Was there something in SB281 to that effect ? I'm pretty sure there was something about registering your handguns if you moved here after the law passed did that part of the law survive ? There was a time when I could remember all this BS guess i'm getting old

That is the point of an 80% build, No need to register something you manufacture. Registering only applies to the purchasing. The ATF has information about it on its website. The only thing I think you have issues with is 80% AR-15's that are built into banned configuration which to my understanding is illegal so 80% can only be built into pistol or HBAR unless it was manufactured/built before OCT 2013

I hear what your saying about the sickness. I wake up feeling like I might be over it and then it knocks me back down. Hang in there. I think I might be almost over it , this time. Thanks for posting all the info on your build, I've been enjoying it.

[QUOTE=pilotguy299;3769680]I just finished a second build using the same RIA kit that mhemling33 used. Mine wasn't quite as drop in as his though.

I needed to file flush the hammer strut pin; file and fit the ejector to the slide; polish and fit the grip safety; and an AWFUL LOT of work getting the barrel & slide to unlock properly.

Did you break the edges on the barrel locking lugs? That may be why you were having issues with it unlocking. FWIW.

Thank you for the tip. I have, but seem to need to do a bit more. It unlocks every time if I pull slightly up on the slide, or pull the hammer back first. It definitely needs a bit more to make it unlock smoothly.

Do you know how to determine if you have the proper length link? If not, I can tell you how.

Regards,

John

If you would please, that would be great. I am sure that a couple of us here could use the help.

Anyone know Where can I find a set of grip screw bushings locally ? Mine are back ordered from sarco and I got ants in the pants to finish my build.

Not really local, but they seem to have them in stock:
