So I accidentally hit the bullet on the edge of the crimping die and .. My CH press leans back and I’ve since learned slow until in the die works better

It’s live and charged and I’d have screw into it to pull it. Can’t throw away a live round can it still be shot in the revolver to empty it?

That’s what kinetic bullet pullers are for.

Thanks, It didn't make sense to me how a hammer pulled anything. I just ordered one. I assume you could tap it lightly and hammer it past the crimp groove and reseat and crimp it?

Cleaning the gun and the cylinder has rings around each chamber and I’m assuming that is heated lube, correct? Water and a pad isn’t moving it and was having to use kitchen scrub pad but it’s still hard as hell to remove. Is there something better to clean this?

The picture is after cloth cleaning and before getting the scrub pad out

Set the case in the puller. And beat the ever loving crap out of a chunk of wood. Soft taps don’t work.

Hard hit. Look to see if it is out.

    Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

After using it a few times, you’ll get the feel of the bullet coming out, and you won’t have to look anymore.

Hammer puller worked great. Powder ruined on the bullets lube, bullet is fine and needs relubing after cleaning. Paper toweled the inside fo the case and all good to reload.

I had my buddy come over after work today as even with the Lyman large pocket reamer I could not get the primer arm in the CH press to work right. Some times it loaded, some times it didn't, sometimes it loaded one high and some times it crushed one. Even after reaming. He brought over his RCBS Hand Priming tool and I had 50 cases primed in 4 minutes. So I had $30 in Cabelas points and one is on the way while i am borrowing his. The primer press arm is not lining up right or something. He said he has the same problems on his single stage press.

Single stage primer seating isn't worth the slow down even if it is working correctly. As you found out, hand priming is much faster and you seat the primer better than in a single stage.

I just learned this trying to clean up last week from reloading 45 colt. I was emptying the Lee perfect powder measure bottle and was like wow, the threads look the same. Yup exactly the same. I felt stupid but it makes a lot of sense

I’ve watched A LOT of reloading videos and pages and never seen one reference to this and no one had a 1# bottle mounted on the powder measurer.

Ok, so I have been looking at loading 45 colt cartridges for my Howell conversion cylinder. They say to limit to low power loads and listed 850 FPS and 12000 PSI, but all things I have read PSI shows slightly higher than CUP the powder manufacturers list. So the slightly high 12000's could be close.

I was looking at Trailboss and even at Clays although I have yet to find any to buy locally or online and until LPP are available for found I can't load it anyways.

I have a 160 and 200 grain mold for 452 LRNFP bullets. I was figuring I'd save on lead. Now I am not sure I just wasted $23 on the Lee 160 grain mold as speeds and pressures seem to exceed the limits listed. Bigger does seem to be better, but i can make 200 grain work.

The attached pic shows all the places it exceed 850 fps or 12000 cup even though they said psi. Though for other powder to compare also?
I have many of these Kirst cylinders and the one I like the best is the ss. 5 shot . Over many years, i have found these cylinders matched up with the right bullet and powder will shoot beautifully out to 125 yards. 12.5 gr. of HS6 and a 200 gr plated bullet shoot just at 1186 fps and the pressures are below the 14000 psi for the 45 colt . by slugging the barrel and cylinder I came up with 451.5 and the best shooter is the 255 Keith-style bullet. This load is in the books many times, and the brass comes out clean and bright, as does the barrel. pushing these ashtrays too fast kills the accuracy. 255 Keith cast and 11 gr HS6 drop the deer or elk fast and clean

I think I'd be more worried about the pressure than the velocity. My thought would be any 'cowboy action' load should be safe. Perhaps the conversion company could help you out with loads they find safe, not just 'generic' pressure/velocity charts.
Any load in any reloading manual published will be fine in any conversion cylinder. 6 shot cylinders, I would be careful about the pressures and keep the speed down to 890 fps. the SS 5 shot cylinders are the best and every load I have put in them comes out clean and shiny. The experiment is the fun part, but after many many years of doing this I have found many loads for the cylinders that will hurt when they hit , 45 colt with 250 gr cast and 40 gr Black powder shoot hard and fast 1000 fps is an average velocity and are no slouch
