They’re much further north than ppl realize but it won’t last long with this rain and cooler nights.

Managed to get out for a little "worm drowning" ;)

OK, I used raw shrimp pieces, but the concept is similar.:D

Was out about 90 mins, just some quiet time.

One Yellow Perch, 3 tiddler Stripers... but it was quiet.

Did I mention the quiet time???

So my younger son has been obsessed with fishing since early August when he caught some spot off my father-in-laws dock near OC. He hasn’t had much luck since. Last weekend we were camping in WV, but his smallest hooks were too big for the size of the bluegill in the lake. At the 11th hour and 61st minute with my wife stomping her foot and wagging her finger while I yelled “just one more minute” my son hooked up a bluegill.

Made his whole weekend after spending probably 10hrs over 3 days fishing. He is not normally the patient sort.

Today I took off and we went down to Calvert cliffs fossil hunting and fishing the pond. He caught a couple largemouth bass. A small one and a big one. The big one snapped his line a second after I snapped his picture. I hooked a couple after that. One big one that spit out the hook right before I landed it. The other one snapped the line when I only had it partway in.

With another “let’s GO honey” coming from my wife I threw one last cast and hooked up immediately. A 14” largemouth.

I got a couple halibut up in Alaska that was fun (and tasty!), but never really been big in to fishing. I guess it’s my younger son being interested (obsessed I mean. He wants to come home from school, do his homework and watch fishing shows) that’s getting me hooked. Now, I think I’d rather spend a day in the woods with a bow, shotgun or rifle in my hands deer or turkey hunting still...but fishing is sure as heck growing on me.
