Hey gang, I have had no end of trouble with an 870 Express I purchased. It appears that the shell carrier doesnt move out of the shells way when I try to eject a shell by pressing the shell eject hatch down. The shell is released, but then bumps into the carrier (Or elevator)....Any ideas? The elevator dosent look bent. Thanks in advance!

Could it be the shells you are using? It seems it depends on the type of shell and manufacturer because remington slug does not feel to be the same daimeter as lets say a remington buck or bird shot shell

Dosen't seem to matter what brand or size I use. The elevator also flips up and stays up instead of the constant tension I think it is supposed to have. I'm wondering if the carrier dog spring is sticking or faulty.

A spring issue was the first thing that came to mind here.
