    If the pistol is considered C&R, you do not need an HQL for it.

    If you want to offset your Commie ways, just a little bit, buy an AR... :D

    Most MD FFLs will know this. One still needs to complete a 77R and wait a week to pick up the purchased firearm. There's a box that they check on the 77R that indicates the firearm doesn't need an HQL. You don't need a C&R permit either, as long as you're doing the purchase via the 77R background check route.
