Here are a few pics of an electrocuted bear that was found a week and a half ago at a camp roughly 700 yards behind my camp in central pa. I just found out about it Friday night when I got there. He was standing in a puddle and bit the electric line running into camp.

Biting in to electric lines has traditionally been a bad idea regarding wild life.:)

At least he didn't have a chance to get into the cabins and tear them or somebody else (s) stuff up.

One time I found some sika that were burned up when they tracked into a tap line down below. Thing is even with the wire down it didn't blow the tap fuse, once some vultures came in to feed on the carcasses is what finally tripped it out. A doctor named Hess had a place back there where he did ornithology studies, I always imagined his first name was Rudolph for some reason.

I wonder if that hitch hauler will load critters if you back into them so then you can just pin it and then drive off? looks like it might.

Note to self: STOP biting electrical cables, especially on rainy days. :innocent0

Probably an ill fated attempt to live up to Ole Smokey's name or just another ole Smokey wanna be. I bet he really got a whiff from one of those sewer lines and was probably trying to dig along one of them maybe. I had a bear do that to my place in PA. but he got away clean, if you want to call it that.

Where did this happen? I'm from Harrisburg and my camp is in Schuylkill County. This is the first I have heard of this and I can't find any news on it.
It's bearly had a chance to get out to the news yet...
