Just saw this article, don’t know all the fine details but it surprises me that he was charged in Hagerstown considering the details of the story.

Makes no difference to me, time to file an appeal to my restriction. It's not up to a PO to determine whether I am working or not.

Carrying outside of the permit restrictions is now a criminal offense.

Walking his dog, was not part of his bail bond business.

Except that is a bail bondsman really ever off duty? Aren't bonded out and released perps everywhere?

Finally Esq's fears have now been realized.

This restriction thing needs to be addressed by the courts once and for all.

If he's found guilty he'll be prohibited for life

That's the case for anyone. I don't think I've heard of any dirtbag look at his watch and say to his buddy, "No we have to wait. He's not on the clock yet."

I was under the impression that the dog was one of his tools he uses to apprehend people. Is a truck driver on duty if he’s washing his truck?

That is the million dollar question. Was he working, or was he just walking fido?

If he was working, he may have been within his permit restrictions.
If he was just walking fido, not so much...

As stated before... Sgt. Bonell has mentioned numerous times at HPRB meetings... if you are on-call... you are working... BB was walking his tool... carrying his tool for self-protection... carrying his tool for apprehension... carrying his tool to notify PD... that sounds like working to me... but... I'm just a Joe... what do I know?

If his dog assisted him in his dutys, them he was taking care of the dog and therefore on duty.

The problem I see, is that Williams said he confronted the man looking at vehicles and with a knife
I was taught to never be the aggressor and only act when YOU are at threat
