There's other tools for breaking windows that work a lot better. And don't get you sued for using them, either.

I guess his flashlight, handcuffs, or anything else semi rigid that he carries on a regular basis wasn't enough to get the job done. Yea, this isn't going to go well. Too bad RD isn't around these days, we are missing a good debate on if this is a good shoot or not. We miss you RD.

So, was the victim of the shooting the driver of the Escalade that was ramming the other car? Not suggesting that was a reason to get shot. Just curious.

Can't imagine anybody using a pistol to break a car window, unless it was a situation of imminent danger. Seems like an asp, baton or flashlight might be better choices.

Everyone knows you pull the AR out of the trunk to smash a window..

MoCo PD use plastic guns or metal guns?
Never try to break a window with a plastic gun.

Been a while since I've looked, but back yonder they carried Beretta 92, while the Rockville City guys got a P226 .

Must have used a bullet to smash the window, otherwise can't see how the driver would get shot

I know a guy who might be looking into this...

BTW, never pre-judge a situation based on a media report. The cop could be way out of line or he could've done the right thing. Listening to the media will never give us the full scoop.

Guess cops no longer carry nightsticks or truncheons?

I guess those little tiny high lumen LED lights can't take the place of a 6 cell Mag lite huh?

    Nothing in the trunk either?

Bet the training academy is updating their syllabus right now.

It would be nice to know what caused the officer to go ape s$#t and use the wrong tool for entry to a vehicle.:o I guess negligent discharge of a weapon only applies to civilians.:sad20:

He could have requested a Truck Co with a halligan bar.

I guess cops don't carry spring loaded center punches to break windows. They cost like what 10 bucks?

The officer, Todd Archer, will not be criminally charged, according to authorities, but he remains under administrative investigation by the Montgomery Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division.

The officer was trained to break windows with his sidearm?
