I was out tonight and saw 3 of those little bastages! No pics cause I could not seal the deal:mad54:. On a whole 220 acre farm, those F'ers had to show themselves along a hedge line on a zero horizon shot with roof lines in the back drop! No safe shot and they busted me trying to sneek to a safe angle. ARRRGH!!

It took a while but I finally got number 4.
    299 yards, Savage .223.
I’m slumping in the Carroll County hog contest.

I probably would have gotten in deep doody so I skipped it, but I was at the range on my lonesome about a week ago and a big old ground pig walked out from a drain at 35 yds just minding its own business. I won’t lie, I was tempted to light it up with my AR-15. It didn’t seem to mind me slinging 40 or 50 rounds down range before it wandered off.

Not really. Mostly a farmer's problem. Ask around any crop or livestock farms. Any bigger piece of land will have a couple of them. I never knew about them as a problem, till my neighbor at first house had them digging under the concrete apron of his in ground pool. That's also when I got hooked on .17hmr.

That's not to say it's not possible. You might find a DNR officer and ask them. But, it's not much different than hunting whitetail deer. If you consider it's a firearm hunt.

I've had that guy in my sights many times, and yeah, take a shot at him and you are gonesville.

I had some history with this one. He would be in the field beside my driveway and wasn’t afraid when I would pull in. Over a few weeks I took 9 shots from my xds45 @ 40-50 yrds. So I pull in the other day and there he was, pulled my pistol and take aim at 25 yrds and before I could get my shot off he hauls ass up to the chicken house. He turns and looks at me. I put my pistol away and get my bow from the garage and at 42 yrds I let the arrow fly. Rolled him over right where he was standing.

Great shot! Well done. Luckily no snowflakes filmed it.

I've watched this little turd eyein my garden up a couple of times since last weekend but every time he'd get spooked and disappear by the time I got to the safe and back to shoot. His luck ran out this afternoon. 40 ish yards with a .22.

Carroll county gun club there is also one or two near the top of the driveway. Or at least there was last summer.

Seems like they know where they are safest. :sad20:

I am stalking the biggest groundhog I have ever seen on my hill right now. When I get it I will post a photo. I’m serious.... it’s huge.
