    Lots of inspiration here lol

From a "pistol" stand point, is there any difference what your can do with a pre sb281 and post sb281 lower?

No difference at all. FSA2013 only applies to centerfire semiautomatic RIFLES.

That's what I thought. I've got my lower built out but the PSA pistol tube didn't come with a castle nut. Google gives mixed results on that.

Anyone else running a pistol buffer tube with no castle nut?

Now to look for an upper...

    Nice look.

Why "waste" a pre 2013 on a pistol? Just curious.

It's not necessarily wasted. He can still build it into a preban configuration later if he wants to. I have preban lowers in my safe that aren't doing anything right now that I've considered doing pistol builds on also.

I bought a few back then, some of which still aren't built on. I have one that is sitting in the safe ready to go now. I build when I have the time and money, which with three kids is about every 6 years at this rate.

I like that gen 2 Tailhook brace. How is the cheek weld?

I guess what I'm saying is that I see so many people specify a pre 2013 lower in these build when it doesn't matter per se. A lower purchased after 281 can be made into a pistol.

The lower in question can always be rebuilt into a rifle at any time. No waste in that.

Love it so far. It's fairly functional as an actual pistol brace. As far as shouldering it, it's about as close as could find to a traditional M4/AR15 stock. I'm 6'4" and with it extended to the last point I don't feel squished like I did with some braces. One of my buddies at work tried it and placed an order that day for one he liked it so much.

    Looks great too.

Is it legal to transfer pre-13 unbuilt lowers?

    Yes.

You can transfer any lower as long as it is not in a banned configuration. (i.e. if you have an M4 clone, as long as you transfer only the lower (built or not) or if you put an HBAR upper on it.)

However, if you transfer a preban lower it looses the grandfathered status and the new owner must conform to the FSA2013 tests (no HBAR, longer than 29", evil features, etc).

Just pulled the trigger (heh) on an 8.5" barreled upper from PSA. Anyone think a SPARC is good for a 300AAC pistol, or should I just get some BUIS?

If BUIS have nothing to back-up, do they just become IS?

I generally go for both, personally, because I hate the idea of a dead battery or malfunction ruining a range day.
