This is yet another example of why real due process is important in Red Flag laws. If someone is filled with enough hate to do this to a "friends" car, what is to stop this person from making a false report that results in the gun owner having their guns taken away.

But after Oct 1, 2018 (assuming Hogan doesn't veto HB1302). How would have this type of incident be treated under the new law as crafted by our DemocRAT-controlled legislature, politically myopic RINOs, and AG Brian Frosh ?

    • A valid anonymous complaint that should result in seizure ... of the car owners firearms?
    • Misunderstood 'cultural tagging' done by Dreamers (aka MS13) seeking a safe space (to intimidate)?
    • An TV ad for Farmers Insurance ... They've seen a thing or two?
    • An unintended consequence of a poorly written, constitutionally dubious law?
    Yes.

Leaving them open for a real attack since they did say they should die because they own guns.:sad20:

But don't worry, anti-gun activists would never perjur themselves on an application for an ERPO against a gun owner. That would be illegal.

I wish we could get our own schools. Maybe could restore the educational system, beginning with the return of truth in history, political science, and economics, from the ground up.

And start the morning with the pledge of allegiance.

Not me, I've got no desire for Civil War II. The "United" States will undergo a split at some time, that's unavoidable. I just hope that it's a "velvet revolution".

If history repeats itself here in MD ...

Maryland in the Civil War: A House Divided

Southern Maryland was a hotbed of clandestine Confederate activity, Baltimore a training ground for Union recruits, where citizens of doubtful loyalty to the Union were deported or jailed at Fort McHenry. Maryland was home to Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman, to the “Union Andersonville” at Point Lookout, and to John Wilkes Booth.

    Didn't sound too 'velvety' ...

I can't agree. If we have a peaceable separation (which the left won't agree to anyway), the leftist commie land will turn to crap and they'll be sneaking into ours. We need large numbers of them (and all of their leaders) dead so their ideology is fully discredited.

Delegate Dumaiss was rather emphatic at Monday's floor session that sworn statements for an ERPO would be made under penalty of perjury.

And while folks might be willing to kill each other, or steal each others' stuff ... no one would risk perjury.

A good example of what they're about when they're not about buying the world a Coke, or teaching the world to sing in perfect harmony.

Maybe a springtime allergy. One triggered by the apple trees, the honey bees, or the snow white turtledoves.

As long as everyone sings the songs they pick it will be harmony to their ears.:sad20:

    That’s genocide, not war

Ultimately, war is genocide. The way you win a war is by crushing the morale of your enemy. The best way to do that is to kill large numbers of them. How did we crush Japan's morale and will to fight? Certainly not by bombing a military base here and there. We did it by vaporizing 100,000 of them in five seconds.

ONE way to win maybe. but... in this example overly simplistic and inaccurate.

You win by destroying the enemy's capability to fight.

The Allies didn't win in Europe in WW2 by crushing morale (Dresden fire raids etc), we had to crush the infrastructure (manufacturing, transportation, etc) and the military capability, and ultimately over-ran and captured the country(s).

In Japan, it wasn't the loss of civilians and morale, but rather that the atomic bombs could wreak such total destruction that finally drove the Japanese heirarchy to throw in the towel. Japan had no way of defending against it and at that point, once again the manufacturing infrastructure was severely damaged and military capability degraded to the point it was futile to continue. The upper echelon was encouraging and preparing the people to fight to the last man and losing a bunch of civilians in a bombing raid wasn't a prime consideration.

The Tokyo fire-bombing raids in May 1945 destroyed more area and killed more people than the A-bombs, and didn't break the Japanese fighting will/spirit (military or civilian).

The US had also bombed much more than "a few military bases here and there" - at that point we'd captured all the islands leading to the mainland and shrunk the Japanese military to a small sphere of operations. We were pummeling the crap out of the infrastructure in mainland Japan. The A-bombs were just the final impetus.

Not sure how we got from a spray-painted car to mass genocide but that's MDS I guess.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women!

Ultimately, it's true. You have to become the monsters the leftists accuse us of being.

This may win me the BGOS of the Month Award but I have to say that this is far too extreme at this point.

I can see the possibility of us getting there, and keeping one's powder dry is always good advice.

However, espousing the killing of one's political enemies, no matter how heinous and disgusting they are (and, they are), is a bit much right now, IMO.
