Wow I just got a letter from him/his office thanking me for writing to him about my opposition of any new guns laws.

Rack told me about this a couple hours ago.

    This hits hard.

When attending the Senate Judicial hearings or watching online live, we could always count on Senator Norman to be one of the few voices of reason. He was as transparent as they come, and he truly cared for the traditional values of Maryland and its core good citizens.

I personally spent time with him (annually) talking about his "G&S" bill (which is now SB0099). Whenever I was in Annapolis, I always tried to track him down, even if just to say hello. He always had a minute for me even knowing I was not in his district (a trait all legislators should take from him). He was a truly genuine person who made a point to take the time to talk to people and discuss their concerns. He also always had points that made you stop and think, and that was a true gift that he had.

This is/was my perception of him.

Maryland has lost a true voice for good and an American Patriot. Rest in peace Senator Norman.

This tragedy brings up a technical question. With Senator Norman gone and the GA still in session, am I without representation in Annapolis? Is there some procedure to allow someone to vote in his place? What happens in this situation?

If I may we need to pay tribute to him on the sidewalks Monday night , maybe someone could come up with a unified message .

See post #20 on page 2.

I need to try to get this sign to someone who will be at MTFU Monday. From Eldersburg tonight or Ellicott City tomorrow.

So did I, arrived in the mail yesterday. He was my Senator also. His office always followed up whenever I contacted them. RIP Senator.

This is exactly right....he deserves our full attention tomorrow.

A little while ago I finished two tribute signs for Senator Norman to go with a nice sign made by Raineman.

I encourage you to make your own if you have time. Water-based paint on sign boards sold at Dollar Tree would be great for this.

In the meantime..we remember this Happy Warrior who enjoyed his time with us as much as we enjoyed chatting with her him!

In honor of Sen. Wayne Norman, the Patriot Picket will offer these tributes to the arriving drivers at Rowe Boulevard and Taylor Street tomorrow from 7:30am to 9am.

We will have these signs plus the Maryland and American flags flying at this intersection.

Needless to say this will be a poignant moment for all those who knew him and loved him, as they arrive in Annapolis for work at the Statehouse.

Say it here, if you can join this honor guard.

Sad to hear of Senator Norman's passing. He was one of our best supporters in the Senate, especially on the Judicial Committee.

If there is a vacancy in the Maryland General Assembly, the governor is responsible for appointing a replacement.

The governor has 30 days after the vacancy to make an appointment based on the recommendations of the political party committee that holds the vacant seat. The political party committee has up to 30 days after the vacancy to submit a list of recommended candidates to the governor. If the party committee fails to act within the 30-day deadline, the governor has 15 days to appoint a person from the political party that last held the seat.

The person appointed to the seat serves for the remainder of the unfilled term.
