I just ordered one of these safes. It came to $50.43 with taxes and free 2 day shipping to my house.

This is the same model bought about a month back. I am completely satisfied with the purchase. Tampering with it would take both time and a good about of effort with a crowbar. It's bolted to my nightstand and roomy enough to hold my P226 and 3 mags.

I'm going to bolt it to the nightstand. That will make it difficult to carry out of the house.

Adding difficulty is certainly a good thing. It will help keep somebody that is in a hurry from simply snatching up your safe.

Not sure it its like the ones I have seen vids on line about but they could be opened with a rod through a hole in the side or by smacking it on top.

Worth checking the youtube videos and see if those issues impact yours before you commit and bolt it down. One guy popped a Fortress pistol box with a screw driver in a few seconds.

Good find. I ordered one.
I have no illusions about this keeping out a determined burglar but it's mainly to secure stuff from my toddler and his friends.

What do you want for $50? You are not going to get a bank quality safe for $50.

Risk mitigation. "Yes your honor my pistol was locked in a safe."

That's the same rationale I use for my loaded beside gun. I'm not concerned about the potential thief. I have an alarm system and an 85 pound pit bull to deal with potential thieves. I don't want the grandkids to become statistics.

I do not recommend any digital locks or biometrics (non-DoD approved anyhow).

This type of mini safe is very insecure.

This 3yr old opens many different ones. Yes, had may have had some training but still. If he can do it a quick google will let most teens also do it quickly.
