    Welcome!

I'll second the suggestion to visit M.S.A.R. Not far from the northern county line, easy to get to and not usually that crowded. It's a great place and you can let her try out several different guns, regardless of the weather.

    Good luck and have fun.

It is usually well used when I am there, but I thinik of all the times I have been there in the past four years or more years, there has been a line waiting to shoot maybe only twice.

STSCM - I just went through the same purchase decision, with the same questions. Ended up with a S&W 686 .357 6" barrel. She can easily handle this gun shooting .38 wadcutters (less recoil and the 6" helps out with that as well) and the .357 can provide power when needed. Less expensive to shoot with the .38 as well. Decided on the revolver because for the less experienced if a round FTF just pull the trigger again, no FTE issues, and no need to clear jams under duress. Just seemed like the best balance of reliability and ease of use balanced against power when needed and affordability to learn.
