I am assembling a standard barrel with sight tower, delta ring and barrel nut.
I am at 100 ft lbs and I need to go another quarter turn to line up the hole for the gas tube. I have been tightening and backing off; to no avail. Suggestions? I already think 100 is probably too high as it is.

Did you season the threads with Aeroshell? Max torque should be 80ft-lb. Restart at 35ft-lb and make incremental increases orbuy some peel washers.

PS - I know 80 ft lbs is the limit but I have seen at a SOTAR class a barrel nut that had to be something approaching 120 ft lbs. Those aluminum receivers can take a lot of punishment.
