I support this bill. It will reduce the death toll in Baltimore by at least 50%.

You can't legislate safety, even in Baltimore, even if your statistic had any merit. I sure would love to know how you deduced your claim.

WHEN they outlaw guns, ONLY the outlaws will have guns

I wonder how you could even take that statement seriously. Seriously.

Please read the bill carefully. It changes the age of covered children from "child" (up to age 16) to "MINOR" (up to age 18). Incremental expansion of the scope of liability.

^^^^ THIS! I set up my account this morning. It took a little more than a minute.

The camel's toe is already in the tent. It's so vaguely worded that it can be stretched to fit almost any situation, to the lawful victim's detriment. They aren't even trying to hide their infringement any more.

And with Fat Larry being no more than a figurehead any more, this is our ONLY opportunity to stop messes like this.

You're not going to stop this. No amount of letter writing or rallying is going to change any minds of the lefttards in annapolis. 40 years of doing the same thing with the same result should be your first clue. I've said it every year for the last 10 years here on MDS writing Sterling worded letters, holding rallies and sending emails and making phone calls are the equivalent of banging your head against a brick wall. You get a headache and the wall doesn't sustain any damage. I know you all don't like to hear it but all of those things are a waste of time. Over the last 40 years not one letter or rally has stopped any gun control bill from becoming law. Not one

    - Log in to MyMGA
    - Go to the "Witness Signup" page by clicking on that button on the left side of your screen.
    - Scroll down the page until you find the section for "Senate Judicial Proceedings"
    - Find SB0479, fill in the "Organization" box as "Self" (unless you're representing some group)
    - Select the next pulldown for "Unfavorable"
    - Select your form of testimony (written, oral, or both)
    - Select the upload button to upload written testimony. It appears the file must be a PDF. You can generate that on a Win10 PC by selecting "Print", and then "Microsoft PDF" as your printer inside your word processor of choice. If you're using a Linux PC, I probably don't need to instruct you how to create a PDF. :)
    - Scroll back up to the top of the Witness Signup Page and click "Save".

There, you're testified against the bill.

If you haven't seen the results of actually fighting for your rights, it's because you weren't there, and are not paying attention.

I particularly recall when Del. Curt Anderson pulled the mag limit bill under withering testimony of those who actually showed up. It was an awesome sight.

Keep naysaying while others carry your water. I'll fight for your rights even if you won't, because that's how I preserve my own rights.

Does anyone have any advice based on their submissions? I want to imply that we will not comply but in such a way they won't dismiss me. I'm also trying to put to words how we would be impacted by this bill.

making a lot of new criminals. The vague nature of 'could' and work the youth hunting angle... Like DNR really wants more people out there taking game animals and the whole access to firearms thing by otherwise proven competent individuals would be restricted to the point of not being practical.

Physically showing up? Yes, I can see that having an effect.
Letter writing? Especially in the electronic age? I'm dubious.

    I'm game to try though.

Just submitted my written testimony. Found myself being less-displomatic relative to previous efforts. Closed with this -
There is so much more wrong with this legislation, but I am content to stop here. SB-479 is one of the worst bills I have had the displeasure of reading and responding to. Y’all should be embarassed to put something this bad out for consideration.

I s'pose we'll find out who the lucky few are who The Crown will grant a video-audience opportunity.
