TOES the line not tows. Goes back to the Royal Navy of the 17th or early 18th century when the sailors assembled by divisions on deck for inspection and their toes had to be aligned along a specific seam in the deck.

Actually tows might be appropriate in this case. Moves the finish line all over the place.

So, apparently the Senate Judiciary Committee is deadlocked on the nomination, so there would need to be a full Senate full vote to get it out of committee for...

    ...wait for it...

a second full Senate floor vote. So there's a decent chance the nomination is on its last legs.

The ar-15 select fire M4 carbine is the national service rifle. All able bodies citizens should own one ,know its operation, maintenance and become marksmen.

That is the obligation of being a citizen in a free country!

With the SCOTUS having ruled in favor of the Chevron Deference, will this guy Chipman be able to enforce unconstitutional ATF regulations? I assume everything he does will have to be challenged in courts with the associated time that takes?

We gotta ban these "weapons of war" that don't belong on the streets but they won't do anything against the military because you can just drop a nuclear bomb on people. Says the side that claims a few hundred unarmed people almost literally overthrew democracy in a few hours.

And the side that actively promoted (and completely forgot the lessons of) Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan. You can never defeat a guerrilla force fighting in its own country. Especially a well armed guerrilla force.

If said guerrilla force is supplied by a country that the occupying country is unwilling to also invade or attack.

Iran has been helping the Taliban (possibly Russia too). Vietnam it was North Vietnam as well as the soviets a bit and China. North Korea it was China and the Soviets.

So long as the guerrillas have a safe space to train, recover and fresh supplies they aren’t going to be defeated.

Cut all of that off and likely, eventually they will be. Might not be in the end. But those are the primary reasons NK, Vietnam and Afghanistan have ended how they have.

Most of the Taliban's assistance comes from Pakistan.

Well, you can say that North Vietnam was helped by the whole Eastern Block; many countries.

God forbid, if our current cultural and political divide ever spins into a shooting war with conservative firearms owners playing the part of the Rebels... there are many nation states that would be lining up to provide material and support just to fuel the conflict.

Plenty of our own troops are likely to be on the proper side and bring their F15’s and nukes with them.

Maybe. Likely depends heavily on how it started and what not. I am sure you are right. But still a huge difference between a small rebellion in the military and large percentage of entire units.

    The later is pretty unlikely.

But I certainly agree the argument is stupid that civilian gun ownership has no component to keeping its government honest. Yeah one guy with his AR or even some RPG-7s and M2s isn’t going to over throw the government. A dozen guys wouldn’t. A hundred wouldn’t. But hundreds of thousands would be more than a creditable threat, especially if you combing defections in the military, foreign support, etc.

The media and government propagandists (same thing) would play up and demonize any rebel excesses or errors in judgment in order to keep the troops loyal and quash rebellion. Psyops will play a big part.

Also, the Obama/Biden DoD's indoctrination of troops currently underway, along with culling its ranks of everybody who isn't woke plays a role in that.
