How to dispose of a fireare

I have a shotgun that is damaged beyond repair and need to know hot to properly dispose of it' It's a 12g single barrel breach shotgun if it matters.

It's hard to kill a firearm completely.

May have some serviceable parts on and in it too.

Here im in the 20657 if you want it let me know, it's messed up were the firing pin goes it's messed up stripped out or cross threaded.

I agree with "turning it in" at a gun confisca.... I mean, "buyback" event for a $100 gift card.

OR

Sell it for parts! Even if something on it is damaged beyond repair, there WILL BE SOMEONE out there who needs repair parts for that exact model!

I agree with many here. Sell it at a gun buyback or give it to a member here that wants to tinker or needs parts.

It it can't be fixed I would go that route as well.

But if we're only talking about crossed threads, then I would imagine it CAN be fixed.

All three options I thought of already mentioned:

Find someone who can fix.

Trade in during one of those (how fumb are you to not know you can turn into a gun shop)

Or just hang on wall at vfw, gun club, man cave. Etc

It looks like your missing the firing pin and part of the breechface? Do you have the offending parts? Too bad you're so far away I love to tinker. If you find your way up to the AGC let me know I'd love to check it out.

Doesn't seem like the guns worth much, can't find much info out there.
