Is anyone else experiancing these long delays from the NICS people?

NICS or MSP?
I heard NICS was back to normal, more or less. The MSP checks are what's taking forever.

I think you're talking about MSP, which is delayed about 3-4 weeks. If its NICS... you may have a problem. NICS checks are instant or delayed for about 3 business days and expire after 30 days. I just bought a cash-and-carry rifle on Friday but got a delayed response, yesterday it came back approved.
Either way you need to talk to your FFL and see whats going on.

Yeah, nics normally max of 3 days but it is back to normal, even has added the backround check for NY ammo purchases 
They are even rather fast right now since call volume is so slow (all the guns have been sold just about)
Must be a msp thing, call ur ffl and see what they say

I will be at three weeks tomorrow for the MSP. Can they essentially hold my firearm hostage at the FFL until whenever they decide to do the paperwork?
If it's a long gun, the only person holding your gun hostage is the FFL.
