The ICC has always been an easy way for me to commute from Wheaton to 95. Didn't know about this sudden enforcement of the speed limit. Traffic must be picking up with more folks using it. I guess it was bound to happen. Still a timesaver. Just don't go above 70

Revenue generation.. right... cops get a check cut end of shift based on tickets written... best kept secret.
Uh, I don't think so. I have a close relative that is an MTA officer, and I bet he wishes they would get a check on tickets written. He usually works inside BWI or 95 through Baltimore, but has done shifts on ICC and the Nice bridge down on the Potomac. Most of them hate writing tickets. They don't have a quota.

Do you know for a fact that they are issuing tickets on the ICC using the toll cameras? I've never heard of them doing that there

I don't believe they are using the cameras for speeding, but the cameras and their equipment definitely have the capability to do so. Probably will happen sometime in the not so distant future.

You missed his sarcasm and the fact that he is a cop so he already knows this...

    Late and miscalculated response.

I believe it common knowledge there is no quota or kickback. Those who suggest such nonsense immediately diswualify themselves for intelligent conversation. Like a hands up dont shoot narrative....facts are there to say never happened but never let facts get in the way....

"Cops get a check cut end of shift based on tickets written ?" Where did you get this info from? China or North Korea? I don't think it happened here in the US. Whenever you see more Cops from many jurisdictions on ICC, that means some VIP are travelling through.:sad20:

Back in the '70s some police departments in the south would give citations and on the back it told you where the money went. $2 to the arresting officer, $2 to the county where infraction occurred, $2 to court commissioner etc etc.

    Not just China. ;)
