I have read on ARFcom that there may have been members here that have gotten the Sheriff to sign off on NFA items. Given my current frustrations with the backup at MSP, I'm looking for an alternative without going the trust route(I don't know how much NFA stuff that I'll buy).

What exactly, if anything, differs from the the process between MSP and FCSO? And where does everything need to be dropped off at?

I currently have paperwork somewhere at MSP for the past 6 weeks for a TAC65 Suppressor. I just bought a Colt LE6943 on Saturday.

    Any help will be appreciated!

I called the FCSO and was told to just drop off the paperwork and they do a background check and sign. No extra fingerprinting. Seems like it'll be a pretty painless process.

I have heard (with no confirmation) that it must be signed by MSP and it will be returned if MSP does not sign it.
