Im starting to plan for next year and was wondering about hunting elkneck forrest not to be confused with the state park im not looking for monster buck just meat

I have been hunting there for the last few years and have had decent success. Early muzzleloader has been better then rifle season. Also check out the Black hills section on Mckinney Town Rd.
I hunted the forest about 40 years ago...and thought the place was a might wee too thick with sticker bushes, for me to enjoy hunting the place.
I've heard the forest has a deer population...but will funnel into the state park, just before firearms season opens up.
