I've spent my fair share of time at the 'stand and shoot' type ranges, and I know that leaves me completely unprepared for defensive carry.

I would like to get into Practical Shooting or Defensive Shooting. Does anyone know of any places I could shoot that would be welcoming to a neewbie (not new to shooting, just new to competition)?

Is anyone, or does anyone know any good defensive pistol instructors?

    Thanks!

Please take a look at our Defensive Handgun I class - http://proactiveshooters.com/defensive-handgun-i-2/

A number of folks here have taken it and they can give you an opinion of the class. You can also read some of their AAR's here - http://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=65398&highlight=defensive+handgun

Sounds like your April class may be the perfect birthday present to myself.

Do you guys sell ammo? (I figure it might be cheaper there than anywhere else given the volume of fire.)

We'd be happy to have you!

We don't sell ammo however, so you'll have to visit Wally World.

I signed up for a Proactive Shooters class in May.

    I look forward to it.

After I take the class I think I'll use some of the acquired skills to jump into IDPA/USPSA/IPSA.
