I had been mulling over investing in having Starline Brass produce 7.65 Long French ammo but Hugh Long beat me to it. He has a thread over on Gunboards in the French forum with basic info. Cost is $100 for 250 boxer primed rounds plus $10 for shipping. He takes PayPal, check or MO. Email him at hughlongii@aol.com. Thanks to Hugh I hope to be able to finally shoot my 1935A without the bang click of original, 70 yr old French ammo!

Interesting. I might have to get some. Is this a limited one time thing or is Starline adding this to their product line.

It looks like they added it to their list now but it’s backordered.

I'm not sure as Starline was begged by so many of us for many years to do a run of this brass and they were always too busy with other projects. If it took Hugh to kick start it I'm fine with the cost and buying from him as waiting for Starline to stop dragging their feet was getting me nothing but older.
Now for RCBS, Redding, inc to produce dies that aren't $160 per set. I'm going to first try using .32 ACP/S&W .32 dies. Worth a $35 gamble.

Let me know how that goes, as I want to load for my MAS 1935A. Glad to hear someone is cranking brass now.

Finally! Also, if you're interested Mawkie, I own some likely inert but original 7.65x20mm ammo in the original box if you want to pull a few to do research. Let me know.

Thanks! Think I'm OK for now as some members of GBs French forum have shared pet loads that have a good track record.
Been looking for the perfect example of a 1935-S but it's eluded me up to now. Bid aggressively on a very early post war example in near perfect condition, a pre M1 version that was featured in Gene M's book on the French 1935 pistols. But someone else with deeper pockets beat the snot out of me with it hammering for $900 OTD.

I feel you of the 1935-S. Most examples I have seen are beaten to crap or pricey. I got mine with a Khukri for a PU Sniper Clone and it is a beater. I paid 60 just to replace the safety, and the new safety is too loose to work proof (at least it holds the firing pin in properly unlike the other). The good news is it shoots great and I can restore it further without much guilt as it's, as I said, beat and a post-war production model.

That said, I am going to keep an eye on the price of these pistols. I bet that with the coming rise in ammo availability the prices for them will surge drastically.

See more than a few 1935-s with broken safeties and they're impossible to source these days. In fact there's one languishing up on Gunbroker right now. Makes you wonder if someone enterprising wouldn't tool up to make some, like Don S. has done for T-14 safeties (another weak component prone to breakage).
