You have the excuse of youth. Doco...not as much...:D

I wish I had the back and knees of youth.

But lol, true enough. I’ve only been doing this a few years now. Been married 12 and I still haven’t learned a lot of lessons there.

To be fair to Doco, he's got me pretty well edged out in the youth department too(and he's got a head of hair that will rival teratos!). :o

Not the kind of pic I was hoping to post this morning.

PSA check your gear for wear.

I learned the hard way 5 years ago when s metal stand buckled underneath me 20ft up. I now check every stand several times a year.

Congrats to all that got out yesterday & today to kickoff the season, and those that scored. Me? Been curled up last 3 days trying to pass a kidney stone. First opening weekend I’ve missed in, well.... forever I think(?). OTOH, it rained pretty hard here in Carroll off and on all day, so probably for the best. Good luck to all the rest of the way!

I was out yesterday in the rain for a few hours but only saw these guys on my trail cam. The 2 big boys are local residents. I got them on cam last year too. I hope to get one of them in my sights this year.

Heatseaker - Are you able to tell from your camera if those bucks out of the bean field the moment light comes up? Whenever they move, are they bedding down in that field or heading elsewhere at daybreak?

How are you planning to "Hunt the Hurricane?"

I'm aiming to be in my treestand the moment the rain stops this weekend. I figure animals that were bedded down to wait out the weather will be hungry and will want to get moving. I certainly seems to work like that in the typical cold front rainstorm that we often get this time of year. Don't worry...I'm not climbing the tree if there is wind and lightning. I'm talking about getting out there as the system moves out.

Not sure we are going to get anything from the hurricane now. At least my slice of Maryland it looks like it probably won’t clear up and cool off until Thursday.

But my first telework day (Monday and Thursdays) or weekend (except this one, because I am swamped) where the humidity abates a little and the temps come down to the mid 70s in the afternoon I will be going up in a stand by 3pm, if not take an hour or two off work and get up there by 1 or 2pm.

Right now I see humid, warm and a 55+% chance of rain through Sunday for Howard County and 30+% chance of rain, warmer and more humid for Monday-Wednesday next week.
