When I was in the under-barrel grenade launcher was not forward of the Front Sight Post. Since the dreaded cut is forward of the FSP, what does the other end attach to?

Please educate me and a few pictures would be great.

The M203's receiver remained the same length with the rollout of the M4. The m16s had a Gov't profile barrel, skinny underneath the hand guards and heavier forward of the front sight. So the main reason for the "cut-out" was to allow the mounting of the M203. Other than that, the other end mounts the same way, to the barrel nut.

Forgot about the barrel nut, thanks for the kick in the butt.

I realize the carbine barrel is less than our 20" barrels therefore the cut in front of the FSP. Forgot all about the barrel nut, bitch getting old.

Might have to take a ride up to A1 and check out that goodie.

    Again thanks to you all.
