    Annapolis City Leaders Announce Town Hall Meeting On Gun Violence | Quadruple Shooting On Clay Street Leaves Baltimore Man Dead; Three Others Injured | Two Of The Victims Are Juveniles From Annapolis | City officials will hold a meeting with community leaders and the public following a shooting incident Sunday morning in the 100 block of Clay Street. The meeting will be held at First Baptist Church on Tuesday 10/20 beginning at 7 PM. (Details below)
    Shawn McGowan, 28, of Baltimore suffered fatal injuries during the incident called in as shots fired around 12:11 AM 10/18/20. Another man, 26 year old Tijee Bennett of Annapolis was also shot along with two unidentified female juveniles. Annapolis City detectives are actively investigating this case. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 410-260-3439. You can also call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP and submit an anonymous tip.
    Community members are asked to wear masks and adhere to social distancing. They will have an opportunity to hear from local leaders and ask questions about the case.
    "Details on the Shooting from the Annapolis Police Briefing on Sunday: On October 18th at approximately 12:11 am officers responded to the 100 block of Clay Street for several reports of shots fired. Upon arrival officers located an adult male in the rear of the residence suffering from injuries consistent with being shot. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Shawn McGowan of Baltimore. He died from his injuries. Three additional victims suffering from gunshot wounds were located inside of a residence. Those victims have been identified and are being treated for their injuries at local hospitals. Two of the victims have been identified as 17-year-old females from Annapolis and the other has been identified as 26 year old Tijee Bennett also of Annapolis. Detectives are investigating this incident. This is an active and fluid investigation and we urge anyone with information about this incident to contact our detectives at 410-260-3439.     "Weekend Shooting on Clay Street Prompts Ward Two Alderman Fred Paone to Host Town Hall Meeting at First Baptist Church at 7 p.m.
    ANNAPOLIS, MD (October 19, 2020) – Ward Two Alderman Fred Paone will host a Town Hall meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20 at First Baptist Church at 31 West Washington Street in Annapolis. The Town Hall is in response to a shooting that killed a man and wounded three others early Sunday morning.
    Other elected officials and community leaders will include Mayor Gavin Buckley, Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson, the Caucus of African American Leaders, Anne Arundel County NAACP, United Black Clergy and others.
    This will be a session to listen to the community and answer questions.
    The public is invited to attend. The event is free. People are asked to practice all COVID-safe practices, including physical distancing of at least six feet and wearing a mask at all times. Hand sanitizer will be available.

    Exactly why law abiding citizens should not be disarmed. All these gun control laws do is leave more people victims. Creating more laws will not stop people who have already chosen to disobey the laws, they just weaken the law abiding citizens.

    So lets have a meeting, that will no doubt be used as a tool for the MGA this coming session, to make and/or influence policy, ON AN UNSOLVED AND FACTLESS ONGOING INVESTIGATION THAT NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT.

    Yeah, that'll help. (especially if we leave out opinions from people who don't commit crimes and just want to defend themselves).

    I wish they could see that there is a difference between "feeling safe" and ACTUALLY "being safe".
