Has anyone attempted this? I don’t have a vise or vise block at the moment and I don’t want to make a seemingly easy job more difficult, however, this Geissele sitting on my nightstand keeps calling my name lol. I don’t have a armory, garage, or even a “workstation” to perform maintenance, cleaning, etc, so if a vise is absolutely necessary, maybe someone can refer a vise or a kind of workstation that I can invest in. Thanks in advance.

Is this for an AR15? If so, all you have to do is get two pieces of 1/2 inch or so plywood and set the lower receiver over the gap between the two pieces of wood. Leave about a 1/4 inch gap so you can drive the pins out. If you don't have an 1/8th inch punch, use a nail. The pins are hardened and you can't hurt them. A vice is nice but the trigger/hammer group can be removed and installed with no special tools.

I built a rifle using the deck of my boat as a table. No special tools and no vise. Maybe put a towel under the lower so you don’t damage the lower or the table.

I did a trigger swap on one of my AR last week with it on my lap sitting in my office chair, took me a whole 5 minutes.

I've built a couple of ARs just sitting on my basement floor on a berber area rug. Don't sit on a deep pile rug though. you drop a tiny piece and it is going to be a PITA to find.

I still have a primer somewhere in the rug by my couch because I was hand priming and didn't bother to put a towel down :sad20::rolleyes:
