My son and I were there; took like 15 minutes to get in; we got there 3:15. Pretty typical. The folks in the corner that sell Civil War inspired paintings and lithographs were cutting deals. If you like that kind of thing check them out. Very nicely framed gorgeous oil and lith paintings.

With Accurate Pawn closing up shop, will there be any MD FFL's there anymore to do handgun transfers?

TomKat Defense outta Gaithersburg will do them, if they are selling ammo there this go around. I know it was slow for them last show, but watched them do a transfer while talking with the ammo dude. Just make sure you take your mags while there at Chantilly!

Lots of great 80% frames, 1911's, glocks, ar's, and some dealers even had all the parts. The newer polymer 80 glock lowers are MUCH better than the first generation ones. Didn't see many HBAR uppers but I'm sure there were some.

There were several vendors with 300 Blackout uppers - dude in the far corner of the South Hall near the food concession had a pile on one table. Vendor near the North/South wall had "many" uppers. There were a bunch of 7.62x39 uppers, too.

Took The Boy. He was very good about "ask before touching," and was rewarded with a couple of folding knives (he's been Jones-ing for an assisted-opener.) He chose a nice one, and a couple of cheap Chinese models for the "cool" factor.

There is an ammunition vendor in the middle of the South Hall who has decent prices on bulk boxes of 500 and 1000 ... he was doing pretty brisk sales.

I refrained from purchasing anything, because I knew I was going to catch hell from The Wife when I got home ... which I did. (She is not a fan of firearm-related expenditures right now.)

Expect the parking situation to suck.

I'm VERY happy I went today. I've been wanting to snag an ELCAN M145 for my 249S for a while but I'm too cheap to pay $1300 retail and I cant seem to find any used ones that aren't well worn. But today that problem was solved when I came across a NOS one (2004 manufacture I think) complete with all accessories for $550. It doesn't appear to have ever been mounted on a rifle and it even has the correct reticle for the 249. One of the best deals I've come across at a show in a LONG time.

Just got back a little while ago and parking was a mess as usual. I got there around 12:30 and waited maybe 15 minutes in line. Some empty tables around which surprised me but it is a holiday weekend. Only bought some ammo and was close to a rifle but I didn’t pull the trigger fast enough and when I came back to it, it was gone. Couple tables with signs for Maryland compliant AR’s. I did not see Tom Kat there if anybody was wondering for transfers. Not sure if any other Maryland dealers are there.

I went. Bought some fudge, a little ammo, and not much else. The problem is that this show is fine if you want 1911s, Glocks, ARs, or AKs. Anything else...hard to find. I'd have snapped up an Anschutz 1710 if I'd seen one. A S&W 1076 if the price was right. Ah, well...more money for the Baltimore Antique Gun Show. My word, I'd love to hit that one with $20K or so.

Went today and was looking at ammo. Guy buying some Federal 5.56 told the sales guy he bought a new AR-15. Said his buddy gave him a bunch of ammo for it but it was .223 not 5.56 so he needed ammo. I thought the sales guy would correct him but instead he said, "Well, we have lots of 5.56 for sale."

What was with the guy in the back selling body armor with the signs stating that it will be banned soon? Shady sales tactic or something I've missed?

He's been saying that for years. MD did try to outlaw them for the general public. I believe that are illegal to own by someone who generally matches the prohibited person criteria.
