A few friend and I are going on a hog hunt.. I would like to give my PSL a go, I think it would do well with the right Ammo. Could anyone recommend a good round for the PSL. Hunting round that is. I would like to get a few boxes so I can get it sighted in. Thanks for the help..:D We are trying to go in January... When it's nice and warm..

No idea about the PSL but some AK rifles will not reliably feed HP ammunition without some work. Just something to keep in mind.

Thought back when I was thinking about buying one the consensus was not to feed it anything heavier than 150gr. So 150gr SP?

you will be AMAZED how well surplus ball works on hogs out of 7.62x54r rifles.

I speak from personal experience here.

Go for the neck, behind the ear. If you hit, it's DRT

My understanding is a PSL cannot handle a steady diet of heavy grain ammo, so if you are limited in weight, PPU 150gr softpoints have been pretty darn accurate out of my M44.

Clark Custom Cartridges makes some blue tip incendiary rounds if you can't wait to butcher the hog. Shoot and cook your bacon in one shot, something to snack on back to the cabin.
