From VCDL:
Stafford County is going to consider lowering their CHP fees on October 4th at 3pm.
Here's the bottom line: the Sheriff is getting $35, when just a few years ago he had to send $25 of that $35 fee to the FBI for fingerprint processing. So why does he need that $25 now? What exactly is he doing with all that money?

Suggested subject: Please lower the concealed handgun permit fee!

As a constituent, I urge you to reduce the concealed handgun permit fee. Just a few years ago, the Sheriff had to send $25 of the $35 fee to the FBI for fingerprint processing.
The fingerprinting requirement was eliminated by the General Assembly, so what is the Sheriff doing with that extra $25 that he didn't need before?
That fee is to cover the Sheriff's direct cost of processing a background check and NOTHING MORE. More and more counties are just dropping the entire $35 fee and Stafford can do so, too.
Let me know what you are going to do in regards to this matter.
Sincerely,
