    Precedent has already been set that lands not needed for the seat of the federal government are returned to the state from whence they came. Sorry Maryland you should get the land back with all of the warts and blemishes that go with it.

    The District of Columbia has no value to the Union as a State. The District of Columbia has no natural resources, has no special industry and does not provide anything to enhance the Union.

    As a resident, I'd rather just leave the taxation along the wayside with the representation.

    The District of Columbia has no natural resources, has no special industry and does not provide anything to enhance the Union.

    You can't even harvest a deer. ;)

    If it becomes a state, maybe taking that power away from congress is a good thing. How about higher taxes for congressmen?

    The last thing we need are 3 more liberal votes.
