I believe this is a 94 AWB Era Upper. I dont think barrel is threaded. I have seen these before. The barrel is turned down and a non threaded muzle device is slipped on, then a pin bore is drilled and a pin is added to secure the muzzle device.

And no bayonet lug...so it's probably one of the "safe" ones that's trying to look mean. I bought my first AR under the Clinton Ban...HBAR, no flash hider (or even threads), no bayonet lug, fixed stock...none of the things that make it "killier." It's so safe, I should be able to take it to school with me, right?
