Just recently ordered a CZ 527 in .204 Ruger. Have long had an interest in both the rifle and the cartridge, and a touch of Spring fever. Should be a fun gun, and something a little different for groundhogs and fox and the like.

What powders and bullets are working for you guys? I've got some Nosler 32 grain Varmageddon and 32 grain Ballistic Tip, with some 32 and 39 grain Sierra Blitzking and some 32 grain V-max and 35 grain Berger on the way. Thinking RL-10 or H335 may be worth a look, but maybe somebody has some other ideas, having been through the .204 experimentation phase? Rifle is a 12 twist.

    Your thoughts appreciated!

I came across these the other day, don't usually find .204 pulls for plinking and load development

Good to know Mike, thanks! The price is right for plinkers to be sure. Looks like they've got both .204 and .224 diameters in that lot though, given mention of 50 grain. Or maybe a misprint? Hornady (to the best of my knowledge) doesn't make a 50 grain .204 diameter bullet.

Been loading for the 204 using either 39 Sierra's or 40 V-Max. Most consistent powders are H-4895, Benchmark & RL-10

Using Remington 7 1/2 Primers and Winchester Brass

    Good Luck

.204 Ruger my favorite varmint caliber, quiet compared to .223 & 22-250, flatter shooting too.

I loaded mostly 40 V Max with 10X power, sub sub MOA @ 3600; tried 4850, Varget, and H335 but 10X groups most accurate every outing to the range and field for many years. 0The .39 gr Sierra.'s also shot well too but always preferred Hornady pills

Thanks for the info! Seems that RL-10 might be a good place to start.
