their prices def aren't good at full price, but at 20% off you prob got a nice deal, congrats.

Thanks! I was happy with the deal but then sunk all the savings right back into it by going on Wilson Combat and ordering about $200 worth of upgrades to put in it haha

I'd love to get one, but there is no place in my life for a pistol with any type of slide mounted controls. Definitely turned out to be a classic pistol though.

Nice. My M9 is one of the best shooting pistols I have. Wouldn't be my choice for carry but a fantastic range pistol.

Curious about the reasons. You wouldn't buy one just for something fun to shoot at the range? I tend to agree for something I'd carry for defensive purposes.

I love the Beretta 92s! Here's a pair I would love to own. Saw these at Engage, custom builds!

A zillion years ago when I was just a wee lad, I had a Centurion .40.
I was pretty much a non shooter back then and remember it being Damn accurate.

I would shoot yours. LOL I don't buy stuff "just for the range". I don't like shooting THAT much. :) all my stuff is "for the fight".

I'm shocked. I thought shooting would've been one of your favorite pastimes but I guess for folks, like yourself, who carry on a daily basis, shooting is more of a necessity than something they do for shits n' giggles. Guess that explains all the ball gags and gimp masks in the back of your Jeep? Halloween, my ass.

I have the opposite problem: I enjoy most of the things I shoot on a regular basis, particularly handguns. Just a couple of things in my collection I would consider 'for the fight' but, really, any of them could serve that purpose if the SHTF. Some would definitely be better than others, though.

Drove the 2 hours out to Gander in Salisbury last Thursday and gave them my app/pin numbers and filled out the 4473.

Two guys at the gun counter, one seemed to know his stuff and originally got my paperwork started and brought out the Beretta for me to inspect. However he was quickly taken away from, helping a butterface blonde in tight yoga pants who he was selling to up and down and completely ripping her off. It still blows my mind a person can go into a store and pay 30% more for their gun/ammo, just because of their own ignorance. Crazy.

Anyway, the guy who took over my paperwork was the fudd to end all fudds. I mean, he literally looked like a caveman who just thawed from a 2000 year sleep. He looked and smelled like he hadn't showered in a week, and his neckbeard had food in it.

He picked up my gun to get the serial and his finger immediately fell onto the trigger. Mind you, the slide was locked back and it was completely safe, but it still blew my mind that a guy working at a GUN COUNTER would have such poor trigger discipline. It was then I also noticed every single one of his fingernails was caked with dirt.

At this point I'm just standing their in shock of what is happening. My cousin (who made the trip with me) and I were trading looks, all of which are basically "what the actual f*cuk?!". Never so quickly had my experience in a gun store gone from "okay" to WHAT IS HAPPENING, so fast.

It took him about 20 minutes to link my purchase with my app/pin numbers after which he turned to the first guy and asked "okay do we get somebody now?" The first guy said, "No he's just doing paperwork today." After some initial confusion about what was happening I began to put the pieces together. Standard operating procedure for Gander (and Bass Pro) is that when a customer has purchased a firearm, they are escorted out of the store by an employee.

SO WAIT. He was about to get somebody to escort me out with the gun? He didn't realize I still had my waiting period? What if this man had let me leave with the gun without waiting my 7 days? This guy was officially the dumbest person I'd ever had to deal with.

Obviously, I woudn't have taken it, I would've reminded him about the 7 day wait. But what if it had been somebody else? Somebody that didn't know? What if the other salesman hadn't been there for him to ask? It's scary to think about.

I also asked him when my 7 days start becuase I had done the online 77R two days prior to coming into Gander and he said it starts now, I then asked if I should call before coming in and he said "no, you'll get an email from MSP". That email he's referring to is the "Not Dissapproved" email, but not necessarily "ready to pickup" if the app was done on a different day than in-store paperwork. UGH. Idiots.

Anyway, I can see why they filed for bankruptcy and are closing stores all across the country. Their staff are not knowledgable, nor helpful in any way. If anything, they are detrimental to understanding just how gun purchasing works in Maryland. Their inventory has also gone to shit. My cousin said the store had about 1/4 of the stuff it had 5 years ago. Selection was very bad and everything was overpriced.

I'll be picking up sometime later this week and never going back.

He was right about the email, you won't get an email from MSP until the day you can pick up. At least from my experiences and hearing from others.
