    Pretty much just this.

Finally, AACo will be bringing in a 311 system for general issues. There will always be an app, Arundel311, so that folks can contact the county for pretty much any issue, including missed trash pickups.

It had baffled me that the state could implement a statewide 211 for Obamacare, but localities left folks in the cold, relegated to trying to find the non-emergency numbers for services.

The first 311 was in the BPD. I was one of the supervisors. We received awards for innovation and a Unit Citation.

I don't know why all moderate to large size PDs don't have a 311 line to take the load off of the 911 system and free up resources for the emergency calls.

Even if a non emergency call is received in the 911 system, they can shoot it straight to 311 for service. And the 311 operators can help pick up the 911 load during peak conditions.

A good idea because I fumbled around in the dark a couple of times trying to find the police non-emergency number.

    Let's just hope it doesn't become #77.

Got (had) to use 311 today for the first time.

Note to all... don't call for a missed recycling pickup after 4pm

    ;)

But the call was easy, the attendant pleasant. My timing just stank on ice.

I ended up having to put in an online request.

I use 311 all the time professionally assisting people with minor non police issues. If AACo haaas an online portal for 311 use that. They give you a ticket number, you can track progress, and they email you once it's done. This also gives you documented time frames should you need to lodge a complaint.

About friggin time. The amount of times I've called the local station to report a non emergency call only to be told to hang up and dial 911. SMH.
