They're not shipping those guns into the US, they are banned from import due being Chinese rifles. Only possible way we could get them here is for someone to essentially hold them for like five years in a different country before import.

Yeah, I think they're pretty cool guns, and they work well with 7.62x39 due to M14's being so-so on accuracy without a lot of work anyways. Too bad we'll never get them here unless Trump nixes that executive order banning the imports.

It can physically take a military AK mag, so that would make it unsporting. The barrel and receiver would have to be destroyed since they had ever been part of a nonimportable firearm.

Our review, however, did result in a finding that the ability to accept a detachable large capacity magazine originally designed and produced for a military assault weapon should be added to the list of disqualifying military configuration features identified in 1989.

Our friends in GunPhobia Canada can have them. Also, reasonably priced SKSes. Also, short barreled rifles without government permission and a tax stamp.

Who lives across the street from Canada Eh? :)

So that would go well at the boarder.

    Q - What's in the trunk?
A - An SKS got a good deal man!
Q - Who would you like us to contact for legal representation.

I know you weren't serious. But I can almost picture it going down. ;)

Rather, Canada has different rules about what is "regular", and what is Prohibited, and some things they count as "regular" would be SBR or SBS here . Also, that's only for originally mfg that way, you can't convert one yourself .

    Edit:

It would be easier to sneak one into the US than to legally buy one in Canada.
But then again, laws have never "protected" anyone any more than they "stop" illegal activities.
For shooting inexpensive ammo (like the steal cased ammo), I like the SKS. Accurate enough, inexpensive enough, available enough.

Edit: Well, clearly I don't know how to multi-quote:)

The above pertains to buying in Canada and bringing into the US.
