yeah, but may not be prohibited elsewhere... kind of like 10+ round mags.
they may be ok at home (state), but they'll nail you here.
The thread is about DC isn't it? DC law applies.

Possession of magazines above a certain size [I think 10] also good for some time in the DC Jail, at the very least you would be arrested and have a serious criminal charge on your record, a felony.
Concur... no ammo or ammo components (i.e. fired brass) in DC if you aren't registered.
Be aware, there is a tiny spit of the beltway right around the Woodrow Wilson bridge where you actually cross into DC for a very short distance... if you get nabbed in that area, you will have a bad day.
Good luck.
Driving though is covered under FOPA if you meet all FOPA conditions. The OP seems to be going in and out, ie from Maryland into DC to do some things and back, that is not a FOPA defense in any state.Does that apply to driving thru as well? As in coming from MD dropping a family member off at a metro inside DC then traveling thru to Virginia?
I find myself having to take my personal vehicle into DC today and was wondering if I need to remove my ammo stash from my truck, or is it ok now that the gun laws have changed? No guns, just ammo. I always keep extra in case I get to the range and forget to pack boolitz.
Thanks
