2A MD sent out a notice earlier this week that the SJPC would be voting on SB0208 yesterday, 2/14. But I haven't seen anything about results of that vote, any amendments, etc., anywhere.

Does anyone know if there was any activity on SB0208 (the long gun transfer bill) yesterday, and what was the outcome?

It was on the voting list. Apparently, it turned into an amendment session, for which we have no available text of the changes. It is likely to be worked on again next week, with an expected committee vote at the end of the week.

I guess the good news is they're not just pushing it through with Atterbury's original language. I wonder if she'll pull the same tantrum as last year over reconciliation?

The fact they couldn't complete it and vote same day makes me think that either:

    - They've discovered just how fundamental the bill's flaws are and are doing a major rewrite that may make it irreconcilable with HB0004

    or

    - The Vice Chair (or another D member) threw a fit over how the amendments his colleagues passed gut the bill so much that he can no longer support it.

I hope she does. Then it'll go down in flames like last year.

I emailed Senator Hough's office to find out about this after that email from 2A Maryland, the response was:

It is on the voting list, but it will be delayed one week while the committee works through the amendments. Next Friday, the 2A supporters can sit in on the voting session and can call members offices.

So, any more updates on this? The Committee's vote day came and went with no action listed on the bill's web page.

Maybe they're having serious problems figuring out how to make any part of this bill compatible with Federal law and ATF FFL regs?

Atterbeary must be seething at the SJPC Chair for not moving on this yet.
