    The C-stock is by far superior for shooting comfort than the standard service stock…and more visually balanced and appealing…at least to my eye. My Smith-Corona ‘03-A3 wears a C-stock and I make no apologies for it. It may not be “correct” in the collector sense or originality sense but it’s perfectly correct in the military sense as it is a service replacement. The same goes for GI “mixmaster” Garands, Carbines and 1911/1911A1 pistols.

    My Garand been rebarreled in .308, which to me is a good thing. That way I can feed it off the shelf with el cheapo 147 gr 7.62 Nato from walmart instead of havin to go hunt for 150 gr .30-06 somewhere
