I tried stippling a B5 systems grip with a wood burning/soldering iron and got a lot of charred, black plastic protruding from the stipple area. It might be the type of plastic and I dont think I was holding the tool to the plastic for very long at all. Do you experience anything like that?

Is there a temperature setting? I would think lower temp and pressing longer would be the way to do it. Instead of going in like a branding iron.

I have one iron that has a temperature dial, another that doesn't. The one that doesn't is a cheap Chynese one and it runs real hot. Glocks tend to need more heat than say P80s do. I can abide a bit of scorching. It tends to set the shipping off a little better. My personal observations.
