so we have some property in Anne Arundel county. the cops have come down several times and always told us we have to stop as i dont have a sufficiant backdrop. the officer told me last time in AACO i need 6' of pure DIRT behind whatever im shooting. well i finally took my tractor and built a burm about 7' high... my question is, im shooting down into a hole in the ground and the berm is built into the side of the hole where it comes back up to ground level. from the base of the hole where my targets are it's 7' and change. from ground level it's only maybe 4' or 5'.
do you all think im good or should i get it up to 6' + on ground level outside of the hole?
I know the answer im going to get, but if there's any officers present here im curious if legally it's measured from the base of where my targets are also present or ground level from which im shooting? - Despite that im shooting down into a hole

    TIA

nope, two more-fit white guys a litlte over 6', one had a "pistol expert" badge. i didnt get badge number and dont recall names. it was mid day during the week
only came down bc i was shooting some pretty loud ar's...
if i meet the compliance of the 6' of dirt i dont think they can tell me to stop? i mean... discression obviously, maybe they'll say well neighbors were calling about noise complaints and maybe only go another 20-30 mins or so. sure i'll comply, but i'll probably do it again the following week or a few days later haha
i DID however just pick up a ruger 10/22 and some cci 710fps ammo, stuff is DUMB quiet. slow and falls quick but at 80yards i shoot about 1' above my target (metal signs) and it sounds like an air rifle. the ping hitting the sign is way louder then the action/shot

Put up a gate and No Trespassing signs.

Let them know they are trespassing next time they come onto your property.

My neighbors shoot full auto almost every Sunday. My other neighbor shoots clays on weekends. Why they came and bothered me about shooting a .22 I have no idea.
