It's not unusual to get crappy winter weather in the mountains. Most of the time we expect it and are prepared. We lost power, internet, phone, TV etc. ~ 9PM last night. That sucks.

This morning I had to take a geriatric beagle to the vet for her checkup. There was ice all over trees and many down on power lines. Dodging a bazillion broken branches is "fun"...

Good news is: The beagle got a from the vet. Crews were working to clear the ice aftermath. Xfinity cable came back on ~ 6 PM. Potomac Edison says we might get power back late tonight. And, most important, the auxiliary generator and wood stove were both serviced and ready to go.

Planning for the worst and hoping for the best is the key to living in Garrett County. Y'all stay safe out there. Winter has only just begun.

Always wonderful weather in Garrett. Was there over the weekend. Poured rain Friday and Saturday. Turned into snow around 2 on Saturday and was beautiful. That ice is no fun. Be safe and good luck with the electricity!

It sucks for sure. My road/ driveway is 2.5 miles long and a mile of that is heavily wooded. It took me 4 hours to cut all the downed trees out of the way. Not to mention my power has been off since Monday night and wont be back on until Thursday night.

    Sounds lovely.

    Get a generator.
