It's closed cause people hunt the WMA behind it. Seems like a fair compromise in an area with limited public hunting access.

You are correct people do hunt the property.
So they close for the two weeks gun season

Then they should close it for bow season early muzzleloader season then late muzzleloader season. How about all the small game hunters how about dove hunters or crow hunters. Then there is the ones that hunt ground hogs.

The range isn't closed for any of that.

Not to mention the deer are use to gun fire around the range so it doesn't scare them off.

There is no good reason to close it during the two week gun hunting season.

Went yesterday with a few friends. Haven't been there since 2012. Ran into a couple of old customers. Everyone was civil and safe. We had an enjoyable time and will be back....

I haven't been in a long time. I got permission to shoot on private property 15 minutes from my house when ever I want. Before that I hadn't seen him the few times I had been there.

When does Myrtle open back up from repairs?

It was supposed to open yesterday according to their Facebook page.

I have no idea if they actually did open yesterday.
I sent them a message but doubt they will respond to me.

They recovered the columns and put up dirt mounds (backstops) on each of lanes at staggered distances. That's all I noticed, to bad i got to work Tuesday or I would join you with my 50.

I have a zel custom. With a 30 inch barrel.

I only take it out a few time and when I go to m.g. I don't normally use more then 10/15 rounds when people are around.

Don't want to piss off to many people. From blowing things off their table.

One time I was there shooting it. The guy beside me actually started picking up brass and I trowing them at me when I would fire it..

I've only shot mine once there, when it's not hunting season I shoot on a buddy's farm. I got some pretty interesting looks from the others that were there. My brother is visiting from California next week and has never shot one so I think I'll take him there next Thursday on my day off.
