Any time you get rid of a Magpul fore end is a step in the right direction. Those things are hideous and ungainly. A vast improvement IMHO.

How do you like that upper?
I like it better than the regular AR upper receivers.
I have no issues with the side charging even though I am shooting left handed.

Something a little different
Just something a little different here than the garden variety M4 profile barreled upper.....
A3 upper with 16" pencil profile barrel, chrome lined chamber and bore, 1-9 twist, and triangle handguards. Standard forged lower with an ALG defense LPK and trigger, and M4 stock

Thanks, they do look kind of cool, and I've been thinking of maybe doing a (non-NFA) XM177 style build someday.
You may already know this, but I think you have to use the triangle end cap, the standard round end cap won't work with the triangle handguards.
Have them posted elsewhere but screw it, here's mine:
