Gun control - the new LBGQT-whatever fight.

The (D)'s have simply checked off everything above, I guess gun control is just the next thing in the never ending list of wrongs to be righted.

Maybe would should plant some more statues for them to worry about.

Anti's chant the "universal background check" mantra as if it were a panacea for gun crimes and mass shootings. Precious few of the high-profile shootings would have been stopped, because the shooters would have passed a background check.

So, it's a canard. They want more than a universal background check. Much more. They want to put so many burdens, impediments, and conditions on firearm ownership that people give up out of frustration, refusal to relinquish other rights, and the high cost of compliance.

And we mustn't forget the church shooting where the purchaser was a prohibited person, but a background check snafu permitted him to buy when he shouldn't have. Imagine the Left's screeches if, because of a citizenship check error, he had been wrongfully prohibited from voting.

We always knew these people would never stop. The only solution is to stockpile weapons and ammo and know that the time when we'll have to use it is not as far down the road as we may have thought.

Not few. NONE. The real goal is to make people give up, as you said, because non gun owners are very easy to convince to support more gun control. That's why states like New York and New Jersey can ram through whatever they want. 85-90% of the people don't care, or support the actions.

They will be asking for all of our rights but will be willing to "compromise" and only take half...as long as Republicans can be pressured to crumble under political and media attacks. It's just as much our political friends we need to keep an eye on as our political enemies. The Republicans may stand firm against a straight up gun control bill but if the Dems attach their wants to a bill unrelated but the Republicans really want passed and can only do so with Dem support and all bets are off.

If past history is any indication we really need to hold the Republicans feet to the fire or they can all too easily return to their gutless ways.

Our Keyboard Kommandos (no slight intended - we are a valuable resource for social media) need to begin to beat them back NOW.

I expect a lot of this will be gauging 2020. Proposing various gun control bills, knowing radical ones will be DOA in the Senate, even if they manage to win AZ and steal FL, but they will get good data on how opinion polls show their plans.

They want opinions? In my opinion, no one, and I mean NO ONE has the right to remove or restrict MY right to self defense. Not legislatures. Not Judges. Self defense is a human right.
